Join us for our next Peer Support Night!
There’s an opportunity to connect in person at our next Peer Support Night, tomorrow, April 8!
It’s a relaxed, welcoming space for veterans to come together, share experiences, and support one another. Whether it’s your first time or you’ve joined us before, all veterans are welcome!

Word of mouth is one of the most powerful ways we connect with veterans who may be unsure about reaching out for support. While promotional campaigns, websites, and social media all play a role, it is often a simple conversation, between friends, peers, or family members, that makes the greatest difference.
For many veterans, taking that first step can feel daunting. There can be hesitation, uncertainty, or even stigma around asking for help. Hearing directly from someone who has had a positive experience can help break down those barriers. When a fellow veteran shares their story, how they reached out, what the process was like, and how it helped, it creates a sense of trust that no brochure or advertisement can replicate.
These personal connections matter. Veterans often place a high value on shared experience and understanding. Knowing that someone else has walked a similar path and found support can be the reassurance needed to take that first step. It turns the idea of “getting help” into something real, relatable, and achievable.
Every experience shared has the potential to open a door for someone else. A conversation over coffee, a mention during a group gathering, or even a quick message can plant a seed. It might not lead to immediate action, but it can stay with someone until they are ready.
If you have had a positive experience with our services, consider sharing your story in a way that feels comfortable to you. Your voice could be the one that encourages another veteran to reach out, ask questions, and begin their own journey toward support and wellness.
Sometimes, the most impactful outreach doesn’t come from an organization—it comes from you.

New office location: Halifax
We are excited to announce that we’ve opened a sattelite office in downtown Halifax. This will allow veterans who live in (or near) Halifax Regional Municipality to connect with us in their own community.
We will share more information about this in our next newsletter, but wanted to share the exciting news with you, today!
Our list of Halifax healthcare service providers continues to grow as we make connections, we are looking forward to growing our presence in the area!
Veterans For Healing on the Mira

We’re excited to share a meaningful milestone for Veterans for Healing, one that reflects growth, community, and a deep commitment to those we serve.
Veterans for Healing has (officially) a beautiful property along the Mira River. This new space will become a dedicated place for connection, healing, and community, bringing veterans and their families together in a setting that offers both comfort and calm.
The vision for this space is simple but powerful: to create opportunities for gatherings, events, and shared experiences that foster connection and support. Whether it’s group activities, family-friendly events, peer support sessions, or quiet moments by the water, this property will serve as a welcoming hub for those on their wellness journey.
We know that healing doesn’t happen in isolation. It happens through relationships, shared stories, and a sense of belonging. This new location will allow us to expand those opportunities in a way that feels natural, inclusive, and grounded in community.
We look forward to bringing this space to life and welcoming veterans and their families to experience all that it will offer in the months ahead! That being said, we will be hosting a ‘house-warming’ event on June 20! More details on that will follow in May’s newsletter!
